IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT METU APPLICANTS INTERESTED IN CANADIAN PARTNERS:

Goverment of Canada has a new initiative named as Global Affairs Canada-funded Study in Canada Scholarships competition. This program is part of GAC’s suite of Short-term Exchange Programs (SEP) that provide funding to international students to study or conduct research at Canadian post-secondary institutions for a duration of four to six months. METU students who are intersted in applying to Canadian institutions may be nominated to METU's partner in Canada if they have placed to a university by ICO. However, scholarship is not automatic and METU student candidate will be officially nominated by METU's Canadian partner university to the Study in Canada Scholarships. PREVIOUS ANNOUNCEMENT (updated as above):

Overseas Exchange is a program which allows students to visit a partner university for one semester or one academic year within the scope of bilateral exchange agreements between METU and a partner institution abroad. These programs are not under European Union Erasmus+ or Turkish Council of Higher Education's (YOK) Mevlana programs. Each program under the Overseas Exchange is unique because each one of them is run according to a specific agreement, which may have its own terms and conditions, signed between METU and its partner. METU does not provide any scholarships for this program but students are waived from paying tuition fee to the partner institution. The students who wish to participate in this program will apply to METU and are subject to a fair selection process designed by our university.

Outgoing Student Application for 2022-2023 Academic Year within METU's Overseas Exchange Programs is planned to be held between February 21 and March 7, 2022, which are the same dates with Erasmus+ KA131 program applications. Students may prefer either program but more and detailed information concerning the application terms and conditions will be announced in the coming weeks. Please follow ICO's announcements if you plan to make an application to Overseas Mobility Programs. In case of postponement of the application dates of Overseas Mobility Programs, ICO will make a new announcement prior to the application start date.

Erasmus+ European Mobility Student Applications for 2022-2023 Academic Year

This is a general announcement for all METU students who plan to apply to a learning mobility in Europe for 2022-2023 Academic Year or Erasmus traineeship mobility (KA131). International Cooperations Office is planning to take applications for these two programs  between February 21 and March 7, 2022 through online systems. Applications details will be announced in the coming weeks. However, we would like to point out that there will not be any English language exam tests organised by International Cooperations Office. Students interested in applying to these programs will be able to use any English language test score recognised by METU (please click to see the recognised tests) which have been taken within the last five years. Students who plan to apply for the Erasmus+ traineeship are also required to submit a valid traineeship acceptance letter as explained in this link.

Please follow ICO's announcements if you plan to make Erasmus+ European Mobility (KA131) application(s). In case of postponement of the Erasmus KA131 (learning mobility and traineeship) application dates, ICO will make a new announcement at least two weeks prior to the application start date.

English Proficiency Exam for Exchange Programs (EPEEP)

Dear Students,

International Cooperations Office will discontinue holding English Proficiency Exam for Exchange Programs (EPEEP) based on the University Senate decision given on December 29, 2021. No EPEEP exam will be held starting from 2022. However, students interested in applying to ICO programs such as Erasmus+, Overseas Exchange or Mevlana will be able to bring any English language score taken within the last 5 years before the application period. These score must be one of the METU recognized exams. Please check which exams are recognised by METU from the link and prepare your valid score. Those who prefer their chance of placement to an exchange program may take, but not required, a new English language test recognised by METU.
