Selection results for Erasmus+ Non-European Exchange Program (KA171 International Credit Mobility-ICM) Outgoing Student Applications for 2025-2026 Academic Year can be found HERE, in E-Devlet Career Gate Platform initiated by the Turkish National Agency (https://turnaportal.ua.gov.tr/); you can enter to the system by using your E-Devlet password.

Placement is made according to overall scores and university preferences (in order) of the students, as well as University quotas and the available grant-quotas for the same country/region.

 

For the students who were placed at a university with or without grant, it is not possible to change their university for any reason!

 

• KABUL HİBELİ: Students who were placed at a university and received Erasmus+ grant.
• KABUL HİBESİZ: Students who were placed at a university without Erasmus+ grant (due to grant quota specific to each region/country) are “reserve for grant (hibe için yedek)”. These students may receive Erasmus+ grant if a granted student in the same country/region withdraws from the program and no new students get placed in that quota with a higher Overall Score.
• YERLEŞEMEDİ: Students who were not able to be placed at a university due to quota restraints. These students WILL NOT have the chance to be placed at a university if students on the main list withdraw from the program. (i.e. there will be no second placement) because of the deadlines of partner universities.

PROCEDURES AFTER SELECTION:

 

These procedures are valid for both students with and without grant!!!

 

Students who have been placed to a university are required to contact International Cooperations Office (ICO) and specify their semester preference until 17 January 2025: Cansu Bolgül (cbolgul@metu.edu.tr). While determining your semester preference, please also consider the application deadline of your university.

 

Students who decide to withdraw from the program are also required to contact ICO until 27 January 2025, 12.00 am (noon time). Students who withdraw from the program without a force major reason after 27 January 2025 will lose 10 points in their future Erasmus+ KA171 ICM applications at the same study cycle (academic level).

 

Selected students will be able to get detailed information for Erasmus+ process in their advisor meeting which will be organized on 15 January 2025, Friday (14:00) at Solmaz Izdemir Hall (Main Library Building, next to the International Cooperations Office). As it will not be possible for advisors to explain the whole process to each student individually, it is compulsory to attend this meeting.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

 

Students’ semester, department, overall grade and agreement quotas as well as academic assessment of the departments have been taken into consideration during the selection process.

 

According to program regulations, 50% of CGPA and 50% of the English language test score are taken into account in electing prospective Erasmus students.

 

Besides, before calculating the 50% of the CGPA, a coefficient is applied on the CGPA according to the applicants' department and semester information as below:

 

Student CGPA: 3.15

CGPA of the related department's students in the same semester with the applicant: 2.89

Ratio: 3.15/2.89 = 1.09

25*+1.09=26.09

Overall Erasmus application score: 3.15x26.09 = 82.18

*the convergent factor to calculate 50% of the CGPA = 25

 

In addition:

• 10 points were added to the Overall Score of the students with disabilities.
• 10 points were deduced from the Overall Score of those students who have participated in Erasmus+ KA171 Program in the same study cycle (10 points deduced per each participation).
• 15 points was added to the overall score of the students who are the children of martyrs and veterans.
• 10 points was added to the overall score of the students who have been under protection by 2828 Social Services Law.
• 10 points was decreased from overall score of the students if they withdraw from the previous Erasmus+ KA171 ICM Program after the announced deadline.
• 10 points was added to the overall score of the students who themselves or their first-degree relatives receive disaster aid from AFAD.

 

GRANT CONDITIONS:

 

Students selected for this program will receive 700 Euro per month and also travel support ranging from 28-1735 Euro according to distance between Ankara and the city that they will study.

Participants receive 70% of the total financial support (calculated according to study period of the host institution) at the beginning of their mobility period and the remaining 30% when the programme is over.

 

It is possible to participate in the program without grant as well. However, just like granted beneficiaries, zero-grant students must apply to the program and get selected officially.  

 

Students with disabilities and disadvantaged beneficiaries can apply for additional funds if they are placed for a university, as explained in the application call (https://ico.metu.edu.tr/duyuru/erasmus-non-european-exchange-program-ka1...).

 

IMPORTANT NOTES:

1) At the beginning of your Erasmus programme, you are expected to take 30 ECTS of 5 courses* and indicate those courses at Learning Agreement Before the Mobility. If the students cannot pass at least 20 ECTS credits out of 30, 30% of their grant will not be paid.

If partner university’s credits are systematically low (2-3 ECTS) for all courses or if the partner university does not use ECTS credits, ECTS course weights are evaluated on a number of courses basis (5 courses).

**Students who cannot satisfy 20 ECTS course load with 5 courses are required to pass 3/5 of the courses taken

*The courses taken in the host university must be recognized at METU after return.

2) The courses completed successfully in the host university must be transferred into METU after return.

3) After the announcement of results, selected candidates will apply for the partner universities with the guidance of the ICO advisor. Please note that as announced in the application call, partner universities may have additional requirements (like minimum CGPA, language document etc.). Partner universities reserve the right to deny the application of the nominees that do not meet their requirements. Therefore, placement by METU does not guarantee your acceptance from the partner university due to their CGPA, language, department, etc. restrictions.

 

OBJECTION TO SELECTION RESULTS:

Applicants who would like to object to the selection results made according to the above criteria must apply to ICO with a written petition within one week from the date of the announcement. The written applications will be evaluated by the University Exchange Programs Commission.

 

Please note that this application is NOT for Erasmus+ with/without European Countries. Overseas Exchange is a non-granted program (without scholarship) conducted within the framework of bilateral agreements among the universities and it is different from Erasmus+ Programs.

3) IMPORTANT NOTES:

 

1) At the beginning of your Overseas Exchange program, you are expected to take 30 ECTS of 5 courses*. If the students cannot pass at least 20 ECTS credits out of 30, they may be required to pay the tuition fee, from which they had received exemption.

If partner university’s credits are systematically low (2-3 ECTS) for all courses or if the partner university does not use ECTS credits, ECTS course weights are evaluated on a number of courses basis (5 courses).

**Students who cannot satisfy 20 ECTS course load with 5 courses are required to pass 3/5 of the courses taken

 

2) Those MS and PhD students who completed their course load and in thesis period can also apply as their thesis satisfies the ECTS requirement. However, those students should find a proper thesis advisor at the host institution and get an approval from their thesis advisor at METU before the exchange period.

 

3) The courses completed successfully in the host university must be transferred into METU after return. Make sure that 30 ECTS courses will be recognized by your departments upon successfully completion.

 

4) After the announcement of results, selected candidates will apply for the partner universities with the guidance of the ICO advisor. Please note that partner universities may have additional requirements (like minimum CGPA, language document etc.). Partner universities reserve the right to deny the application of the nominees that do not meet their requirements. Therefore, placement by METU does not guarantee your acceptance from the partner university due to their CGPA, language, department, etc. restrictions.

 

Host university can demand student’s transcript in order to track student’s academic status and success, and this can affect the acceptance process.

 

Partner universities may require a language proficiency exam grade document for your language of education (TOEFL, IELTS, etc.). It is not possible for the student to study in a university if they cannot meet the language requirement for the said university. Since language proficiency requirements differ among universities, it is necessary to check the university’s website for the language requirements before application and to make sure the language requirements can be fulfilled/documented before the deadline.

 

Agreements within the framework of Overseas Exchange Program are generally established as “all departments”. This means that all students can apply, and no one is given priority over the others, unless stated otherwise in the “Restrictions” section of the agreement list in the announcement. However, before applying for those universities, please make sure that there is a department (or at least courses) at the partner university corresponding to your department and level at METU. The fact that you are given the chance to apply for such universities does not guarantee that the university accepts you. The applicants are required to check the conditions of the partner universities (i.e. medium of instruction, language requirement, academic calendar, accommodation opportunities etc.) before submitting their applications. 

 

Please bear in mind that there will be no second placement and it is not possible to change the placed Universities because of the deadlines of partner universities.

 

 

4) GRANT & EXPENSES:

 

Overseas Exchange Program is a non-granted (without scholarship) program. Students are responsible for all living, accommodation and personal expenses while at the host institution.

 

Within the framework of Overseas Exchange Program, selected students are exempt from paying tuition fees to the partner universities (except a few universities like USA/IIT).

 

But exchange students must pay their regular tuition fee to METU for each semester spent at the exchange program. This is supposed to be paid at the beginning of the academic semester.

 

 

5) OBJECTION TO SELECTION RESULTS:

 

Applicants who would like to object to the selection results made according to the above criteria must apply to ICO with a written petition until January 14, 2025. The written applications will be evaluated by the University Exchange Programs Commission.

Herhangi bir üniversiteye yerleştirilememiş öğrenciler için yedek bir bekleme listesi bulunmamaktadır.

İlgili listeler kesin sonuç listeleri DEĞİLDİR. Yerleştirme sonuçları, Kesin sonuç listesi, ilgili aşağıda belirtilen resmi itiraz süreci sonlandıktan sonra ayrıca duyurulacaktır.

  

NEDEN (İSTEDİĞİM TERCİHİME) YERLEŞEMEDİM?

 Bazı üniversitelerin kontenjanları birden fazla bölüme açık olabilir veya bazı bölümlerin o kontenjanda önceliği olabilir. Yine bazı üniversitelerde belli öğrenim seviyeleri (Master ve Doktora öğrencileri gibi) önceliklendiriliyor olabilir. Bu yüzden listeyi incelerken mutlaka sitemizde bulunan anlaşma listemizi inceleyiniz (https://ico.metu.edu.tr/erasmus-eu-agreements-0).

 

Yerleştirme sonuçlarına itiraz etmek isteyen öğrenciler 9 Ocak 2025 tarihine kadar Uluslararası İş Birliği Ofisi'ne e-mail yoluyla europeanmobility@metu.edu.tr itirazlarını iletebilir. İtirazlara, UİO tarafından 16 Ocak 2025 tarihine kadar geri dönüş yapılacaktır.

 

 YERLEŞTİRME SONRASI SÜREÇ

Hem hibeli hem hibesiz öğrenciler için yürütecekler tüm işlemler, UİO danışmanları tarafından ayrıca e-posta yoluyla açıklanacak olup seçilen adaylara yönelik oryantasyon toplantısının ayrıntıları websitemizde ayrıca ilan edilecektir.

 Üniversite yerleştirme sonuçları açıklandıktan sonra öğrencilerin yerleştikleri üniversitelerde değişiklik yapılması mümkün değildir. 

 

ÖNEMLİ HATIRLATMALAR

1) Erasmus+ KA131 programı kapsamında (Learning Agreement (LA) Before the Mobility) en az 30 ECTS almak zorunludur. Erasmus+ KA131 programı sonunda, başlangıçta alınmış olan 30 ECTS’den az 20 ECTS krediden başarılı olmayan hibeli öğrencilerin toplam hibelerinin %20’si ödenmez.

2) Erasmus+ KA131 programı dönüşünde karşı üniversitede alınan derslerin ODTÜ’de tanınması zorunludur.

3) Yerleştirilmiş olduğunuz üniversitenin başvurusuna ilişkin ders seçimi, eğitim dili, ECTS kredileri gibi detayları ilgili üniversitelerin web sayfalarından kontrol ediniz. Yerleştirildiğiniz üniversite ile anlaşmamız olması; bu üniversitenin eğitim dilinin İngilizce olduğu anlamına gelmemektedir.

Program kuralları gereği Erasmus+ KA131 öğrenim programına katılmaktan vazgeçmiş olan öğrencilerin kararlarını ofis danışmanlarına bildirmeleri GEREKMEKTEDİR. Bunun için son tarih 20 Ocak 2025’tir. Bu tarihten sonra çekildiğini bildirenlerden sonraki Erasmus başvuruları için 10 puan kesilecektir.

Seçilen adaylar, 2025-2026 Akademik Yılı Güz Dönemi için seçilmişlerdir. Dönem değişikliği ve dönem uzatma yapılamamaktadır.

CURRENT RESULTS LIST 

There is no waiting list for students who have not been placed in any university. The list is not final. Final result list will be announced separately after objection process specified below is completed.

 WHY COULD I NOT GET PLACED IN (MY DESIRED CHOICE)?

Some universities may have quotas open to more than one department or some departments may have priority in that quota. Some universities may prioritize certain levels of education (such as Masters and Doctorate students). Therefore, be sure to check out our agreement list on our website (https://ico.metu.edu.tr/erasmus-eu-agreements-0).

 

Students who wish to object to their placement results can submit their objections to the International Cooperation Office via e-mail at europeanmobility@metu.edu.tr until January 9, 2025. The objections will be reviewed and replied by the International Cooperation Office until January 16, 2025.

 

POST-PLACEMENT PROCESS

All procedures for both grant and non-grant students will be explained by UIO advisors via e-mail, and the details of the orientation meeting for selected candidates will be announced on our website.

It is not possible to make changes to the universities where students are placed after the university placement results are announced.

 

IMPORTANT REMINDERS

1) It is mandatory to take at least 30 ECTS within the scope of the Erasmus+ KA131 program (Learning Agreement (LA) Before the Mobility). At the end of the Erasmus+ KA131 program, 20% of the total grants of grant students who are not successful in less than 20 ECTS credits out of the 30 ECTS taken at the beginning will not receive the remaining grant.

2) Upon returning from the Erasmus+ KA131 program, the courses taken at the host university must be recognized by METU.

3) Check the details such as course selection, language of instruction, and ECTS credits regarding the application of the university you were placed in from the web pages of the relevant universities. Having an agreement with the university you were placed in does not mean that the language of instruction at that university is English.

 

According to the program rules, students who have decided to withdraw from the Erasmus+ KA131 study program MUST inform their office advisors of their decisions. The deadline for this is January 20, 2025. Those who report their withdrawal after this date will have 10 points deducted for their subsequent Erasmus applications. The selected candidates have been selected for the Fall Semester of the 2025-2026 Academic Year. Term changes and term extensions cannot be made.

GÜNCEL SONUÇ LİSTESİ

Üniversitemize tahsis edilen Erasmus+ KA131 Staj Programı 2024 proje yılı bütçesi kapsamında, 04.11.2024- 29.11.2024 tarihleri arasında geçerli başvuruda bulunan öğrencilerimiz "Kabul (hibeli)" veya "Kabul(hibesiz)" olarak yerleştirilmiştir. Başvuru tarihleri içerisinde sisteme geçerli bir kabul mektubu yüklememiş veya geçerli dil sınavı puanı ibraz etmemiş öğrencilerin başvuruları, başvuru duyurusunda açıkça belirtilmiş kurallar gereği reddedilmiştir.

 

Staj hareketliliğiniz için gerekli belgeler ve süreç ile ilgili danışmanınız tarafından e-posta yoluyla ayrıca bilgilendirme yapılacaktır.

Uygunluk Kriterleri

Kayıt Durumu: Başvuru sırasında ODTÜ’de doktora programına kayıtlı tam zamanlı öğrenci ya da ODTÜ bünyesinde doktora sonrası araştırmacı olmak.

Genel Not Ortalaması (CGPA): En az 3.00/4.00 olmalıdır.

Dil Yeterliliği:

ODTÜ (EPE, TOEFL, PTE) veya ÖSYM (YDS, e-YDS, YÖKDİL) tarafından kabul edilen ve son 5 yıl içinde alınmış geçerli bir İngilizce sınav sonucu başvuru sırasında sisteme yüklenmelidir.

Lütfen hangi sınavların ODTÜ veya ÖSYM tarafından tanındığını linkten kontrol ediniz ve geçerli puanınızı hazırlayınız. Son başvuru tarihinden sonra ICO tarafından geçerliliği ve uygunluğu kontrol edilecek olan başvuru sistemine tanınan dil puanınızı yüklemeniz gerekmektedir. Aşağıdaki tablo, ODTÜ'nün tanınan sınavlarının en yüksek puan olan 1'den 100'e kadar değişen bir derecelendirme ölçeğine dönüştürülmesi için kullanılacaktır. Staj Bilgileri

Kapsam: Stajlar yurt dışında işletmelerde, araştırma enstitülerinde, laboratuvarlarda veya diğer ilgili çalışma alanlarında yapılabilir. Doktora öğrencileri için araştırma içerikli stajlar kabul edilmektedir.

Süre ve Hibe:

Erasmus+ Kuralları: Staj süresi 5–30 gün olmalıdır.

METU Kuralları: 5–30 gün arası süre için hibe desteği sağlanacaktır.

Seçim Kriterleri

Puanlama: %50 CGPA + %50 İngilizce sınav sonucu.

·         15 puan: İmzalı ve kaşeli resmi kabul mektubu başvuru sırasında sisteme yüklenmelidir. Mektup, başvurucunun araştırmacı değil stajyer olarak çalışacağını belirtmelidir. (Başvurular bittikten sonra kabul mektubu içeriğinin uygunluğu için içerik kontrolü yapılacaktır. Sadece geçerli kabul mektuplarına puan verilecek olup kabul e-maillerine artı puan verilmeyecektir.)

·         15 puan: Şehit ve gazi çocukları (belge ile kanıtlanmalıdır).

·         10 puan: Engelli öğrenciler (belge ile kanıtlanmalıdır).

·         10 puan: 2828 Sayılı Sosyal Hizmetler Kanunu kapsamındaki öğrenciler (belge ile kanıtlanmalıdır).

·         10 puan: Kendisi veya birinci derece akrabaları AFAD yardımı alan öğrenciler (e-Devlet'ten alınan belge ile kanıtlanmalıdır).

·         5 puan: Dijital Fırsat Stajları (siber güvenlik, büyük veri, dijital pazarlama vb.) kapsamındaki stajlar (kabul mektubunda bu kapsam belirtilmelidir).

!! Ek puanlar için belgeler en geç 31.01.2025 tarihine kadar sisteme yüklenmelidir. Ek puanları alabilmek için adaylar başvuru tarihleri içinde başvuru sistemine yüklenmelidir. Başvuru sonrası herhangi bir belge kabul edilmeyecektir.

Kesintiler:

·         10 puan: Daha önce kısa süreli doktora Erasmus hibesinden yararlanmış olanlar.

·         10 puan: Vatandaşı oldukları ülke için başvuran uluslararası öğrenciler.

Önemli Notlar

Çekilme Tarihi: Öğrenciler, en geç 30 Mayıs 2025 tarihine kadar çekilme bildiriminde bulunmalıdır. Bu tarihten sonra yapılan çekilmeler, gelecekteki başvurular için 10 puan kesintisi ile sonuçlanır.

Application Period

The applications for Erasmus+ KA131 Short-Term Doctoral Traineeship within the 2023 project term will be accepted between 16.12.2024 and 31.01.2025, by 16:00.

Overview

Grants Available: 20 doctoral/post-doctoral (post-doc) students are expected to receive grants. (Depending on the number of applications and the time period for which candidates apply, the number of grantees may change. The students will be also granted from 2023 Project budget from "Dare to Act" Consorsium).

Traineeship Completion Deadline: Selected applicants must complete their traineeships before 31 July 2025.

Eligibility Criteria

Enrollment Status: Candidates must be full-time doctoral students at METU or post-doc researchers affiliated with METU at the time of application.

CGPA Requirement: A minimum CGPA of 3.00/4.00.

Language Proficiency: Applicants must have a valid English test score from exams accepted by METU (EPE, TOEFL, PTE) or OSYM (YDS, e-YDS, YÖKDİL) taken within the last 5 years. The results must be uploaded during the application.  Please check which exams are recognized by METU or OSYM from the link and prepare your valid score. You need to upload your language score which is recognized on the application system which will be checked for the validity and eligibility by ICO after the application deadline. The table below will be used for conversion of METU's recognised exams into a grading scale ranging from 1 to 100, the highest score. Then the online system will calculate its 50% for the selection purposes: Equivalance Table for METU IYS to other English exams

 

It is not mandatory to upload a letter of acceptance, but additional points will be applied if it is uploaded.

Application Process

Applications must be submitted online through the National Agency Application Portal: https://turnaportal.ua.gov.tr/.

No physical documents will be accepted; all required materials must be uploaded to the portal.

The portal will close on 31.01.2025 at 16:00, and no documents can be uploaded after this deadline.

Internship Details

Scope: Activities can take place in businesses, research institutes, laboratories, or other relevant workplaces abroad. Research-related internships for doctoral students are permitted.

Duration and Grant

Erasmus+ Rules: Mobility can last 5–30 days.

Within the scope of the program, internship mobility can be carried out between a minimum of 5 days and a maximum of 30 days and candidates to be selected for this type of mobility within the scope of the existing Erasmus+ KA131 budget opportunities will be granted for a minimum of 5 days and a maximum of 30 days.

Selection Criteria

Scoring: 50% CGPA + 50% English test score.

Additional points:

·         15 points for an official, signed, and stamped acceptance letter uploaded during the application. Letters must specify the internship role as a trainee (not researcher). (After the applications are completed, the content of the acceptance letter will be checked for suitability. Only valid acceptance letters will be awarded points and no extra points will be awarded for acceptance e-mails).

·         15 points for children of martyrs/veterans (with proof).

·         10 points for students with disabilities (with proof).

·         10 points for students under the 2828 Social Services Law (with proof).

·         10 points for students or first-degree relatives receiving AFAD aid (with proof).

·         5 points for Digital Opportunity Traineeships (cybersecurity, big data, digital marketing, software development, social media management etc.), provided the acceptance letter specifies this scope.

 **To get these additional points, applicants have to submit their official proofs by 31.01.2025 to online application from e-Devlet. It is the applicants’s own responsibility to provide valid and reliable proofs.

Deductions:

·         10 points for applicants who have benefited from Short-Term Doctoral Erasmus applications. Even though the participants do not conduct their mobility yet; 10 points will be deducted because of being selected and granted before.

·         10 points for international students applying for their country of citizenship.

2023 Project Term Erasmus+ Traineeship Grant Details

Daily Grant Amount:   An individual support grant can be awarded for one travel day before the activity and one travel day following the activity.

Zero-Grant Participation: Applicants can participate without receiving financial support, but they must meet all program obligations.

Important Notes

Students can participate in the Erasmus program multiple times, up to a total grant duration of 12 months per study cycle (undergraduate, master's, doctoral).

Withdrawal Deadline: Students must notify ICO of withdrawal by 30 May 2025. Withdrawals after this date (except force majeure) will result in a 10-point penalty in future applications.

Results and Visa Requirements

Result Announcement: Results are expected by the end of February 2025.

Visa: Students may need a visa for their traineeship. Visa procedures can be lengthy and may incur fees.
