APPLICATION CRITERIA:

Students can apply for Erasmus+ Non-European Exchange Program (KA171 International Credit Mobility – ICM) only if:

- CGPA is at least 2.50 as of the application deadline (undergraduate level)

- CGPA is at least 3.00 as of the application deadline (graduate level)

Please bear in mind that students:

-Should have METU course load of minimum 30 ECTS for the semester in which s/he plans to participate Erasmus Programme. Those MS and PhD students who completed their course load and in thesis period can also apply as their thesis satisfies the ECTS requirement. The course loads of the applicants will be checked by METU ICO. Applications of those students whose course load is not sufficient may not be considered eligible. 

-Should take 30 ECTS course/or 5 courses (if the host university does not use ECTS) at the host university.

-Make sure that 30 ECTS courses will be recognized by their departments upon successfully completion.

Applicants must be registered at METU as full-degree students at the time of application.

The student must have completed at least 1 semester in the program they are enrolled in. During the application, the student must have a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) in the program they are enrolled in and must be continuing their education on the same level of education in the following year.

Conditional Program (Bilimsel Hazırlık) students and students studying in the Department of Basic English are not eligible to apply due to the fact that they do not have a cumulative grade point average (CGPA).

Please also note that:

Students can only participate in the Program during their studies at the same level (undergraduate students can participate in the program during their undergraduate studies, master's students can participate in the program during their master's studies, PhD students can participate in the program during their PhD studies).

APPLICATION CALENDAR:

Applications are taken for the next academic year; 2024-2025 Academic Year.

Application Period: 4-29 November, 2024 (by 17.00)

Announcement of Application Results: End of December/Beginning of January (expected)

Withdrawal Period: 9-27 January, 2025

Students who would like to withdraw from the programme should inform ICO about withdrawal decision latest by January 27, 2025. Please bear in mind that students who withdraw from the program without a forced major reason after 27 January 2025 will lose 10 points in their next Erasmus+ applications at the same study cycle.

APPLICATION METHODS:

All applications, selections and placements will be carried out online and through the E-Devlet Career Gate platform initiated by the Turkish National Agency: https://erasmusbasvuru.ua.gov.tr/

Students must submit their application online between 4-29 November 2024 to E-Devlet Career Gate platform. The application platform will be closed on 29 November 2024 at 17.00 and you will not be able to upload any documents or make any changes in your application after this time.

Additional application documents (e.g. language document, the health report for disability) should not be physically transmitted, but uploaded to the relevant section of the Application Portal. Documents which are not submitted to the application portal will not be accepted.

ENGLISH PROFICIENCY EXAM:

International Cooperations Office is no longer holding English Proficiency Exam for Exchange Programs (EPEEP) based on the University Senate decision given on December 29, 2021. No EPEEP exam has been held starting from 2022.

However, students interested in applying to ICO programs such as Erasmus+ and Overseas Exchange will be able to bring any English language score taken within the last 5 years before the application period. These scores must be one of the METU recognized exams. Please check which exams are recognized by METU from the link and prepare your valid score. The table below will be used for conversion of METU's recognized exams into a grading scale ranging from 1 to 100, the highest score. Then the online system will calculate its 50% for the selection purposes (see Selection Criteria section) as explained below:

Equivalance Table for METU IYS to other English exams

According to the decision taken by the University Exchange Programs Committee on 10 October 2022, in addition to the exams that are recognized by METU, ICO will accept English language exams that are organized by OSYM (YDS/e-YDS/YÖKDİL). Students interested in applying to ICO programs such as Erasmus+ and Overseas Exchange will be able to submit any of these English language scores taken within the last 5 years before the application period deadlines.

Please check which exams are organized by OSYM from the link and prepare your valid score.

Language scores and documents must be submitted to the application portal during the application period. Any language document submitted to the ICO physically after the application deadline will not be accepted.

PARTNER UNIVERSITIES:

At most 4 universities can be chosen.

List of partner universities and country quotas can be seen HERE. It is not possible to study in a University which does not have an Erasmus+ ICM agreement with METU. Please be aware that the partner list can be updated during the application period!!!! 

While checking the University list, please be aware that some countries are available only for PhD-level students. This is the requirement of the Erasmus+ ICM Program and it is announced by the European Commission for the current 2024 Erasmus+ project. For those countries, it is not possible to send Undergraduate and Master students with Erasmus+ grants. However, this does not mean that universities open to the applications of PhD students have PhD level programs for sure; students must check the University websites and fact sheets and be sure that there is a suitable program and course list convenient for their own academic program and level.

It is of utmost importance to consult departmental exchange programs coordinator about the university choices. List for departmental exchange programs coordinators can be found in: http://ico.metu.edu.tr/departmental-coordinators

 
Online applications will be reviewed by Departmental Erasmus+/Exchange Coordinators. The Coordinators are authorized to decline the applications of the students if they do not approve the universities or the academic background/status of the students. To learn more about the departmental restrictions, you can check the website below (an appointment with the coordinator is still advised): http://ico.metu.edu.tr/departments-restrictions-outgoing-students-0

Please be aware of the fact that not all the departmental restrictions might be available in the mentioned link.  Therefore, students are strongly advised to contact their departments to check if there are further rules and restrictions.

Students must be sure that the university they applied to offers education on their level and in a relevant department. Availability of a university in the list does not imply that the said university offers education in all the departments and on all levels of education.

Student can only apply for their current level of education. Undergraduate students cannot apply for a master or PhD level program. But after being selected for the program, it is possible to take courses on different levels providing that METU and the host university approve of it.

Host university can demand student’s transcript in order to track student’s academic status and success, and this can affect the acceptance process.

During application, an internationally recognized language proficiency exam grade is not required by International Cooperations Office. However, partner universities may require a language proficiency exam grade document for their language of education (TOEFL, IELTS, etc.). It is not possible for the student to study in the university if they cannot meet the language requirement for the said university. Since language proficiency requirements differ among universities, it is necessary to check the university’s website for the language requirements before application and to make sure the language requirements can be fulfilled/documented before the deadline.

***Agreements within the framework of Erasmus+ ICM Program are generally established as “all departments”. This means that all students can apply, and no one is given priority over the others, unless stated otherwise in the “Restrictions” section of the agreement list in the announcement. However, before applying for those universities, please make sure that there is a department (or at least courses) at the partner university corresponding to your department and level at METU. The fact that you are given the chance to apply for such universities does not guarantee that the university accepts you. The applicants are required to check the conditions of the partner universities (i.e. medium of instruction, language requirement, academic calendar, accommodation opportunities etc.) before submitting their applications. 

E.g. :

X University

Application criteria: CGPA: 3,00/4,00

Student placed in X University CGPA: 2,90/4,00

In this case, even if you are placed in X University, which requires min CGPA to be 3,00/4,00  for UG, you may not be accepted to the university since your CGPA is less than 3,00/4,00. For this reason, students must check the university list announced by ICO, and the websites of the universities.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

50% of CGPA and 50% of the English language test score are taken into account in electing prospective Exchange students.

In order to calculate the 50% of the CGPA, a coefficient is applied on the CGPA according to the applicants' department and semester information as below:

Student CGPA: 3.15

Average CGPA of the same department & semester: 2.89

Ratio: 3.15 / 2.89 = 1.09

25(*) + 1.09=26.09

Overall Score: 3.15 x 26.09 = 82.18

(*) the convergent factor to calculate 50% of the CGPA = 25

OTHER CRITERIA:

• Applicants with disabilities (approved by medical report) get 10 additional points. Medical reports concerning their disability must be submitted to the online application system during the application period.
• 15 points will be added to the overall score of the students who are the children of martyrs and veterans. The proving documents must be submitted to the online application system during the application period.
• 10 points will be added to the overall score of the students who have been under protection by 2828 Social Services Law. The proving documents must be submitted to the online application system during the application period.
• 10 points will be added to the overall score of the students who themselves or their first-degree relatives receive disaster aid from AFAD. The proving documents (the document which shows the AFAD aid could be downloaded from e-devlet system) must be submitted to the online application system during the application period.
   (This is only a one-time application. If the applicant received this additional point for the previous applications and selected for the mobility, 10 point will not be added for the new application!!!)
• It is possible to benefit from the Erasmus+ Programs (Erasmus European Study, Erasmus Traineeship, Erasmus+ Non-European ICM) more than once. Students can participate in the programs up to 12 months for each level of study (UG, MS, PhD). However, 10 points will be deduced from the overall grade of the students who have benefited from Erasmus+ Non-European ICM before within the same study level. Previous participation in the program in different study levels does not cause any deduction in the overall grade.
• 10 points will be deduced from the overall grade of the students who have withdrawn from the program after the announced deadline for the previous Erasmus+ Non-European ICM Program Applications.
• 10 point will be deduced from the overall grade of those international students who apply for the countries that they have their citizenships.

GRANT & EXPENSES: 

Students selected for this program with Erasmus+ grant will receive 700 Euro per month (same for all countries) and also a fixed and one-time travel support ranging from 28-1735 Euro according to distance between Ankara and the city that they will study:

Erasmus+ ICM grant is allocated according to each country’s quotas. Available grants are shown in the partner university and country quotas list above.

Even if there are more than one partner universities in a specific country, in the allocation of grants "quota per country" will be considered.

Please bear in mind that students will be placed in one of their choices according to the university quotas, firstly. The distribution of the grant will be done after the university placements. For instance, if the first 2 students (according to overall score) apply for the same institution which has 2 capacities, but 1 scholarship quota, both students will be placed in the mentioned institution but the one who has the higher score will be selected with Erasmus+ grant and the other one will be selected as zero-grant student. Students who are already placed in one of the institutions either with or without Erasmus+ grant will not have a chance to change their institutions. There will be no second round of placement either.

It is possible to participate in the program without grant as well. However, just like granted beneficiaries, zero-grant students must apply to the program and get selected officially.  

Please be informed that participants receive 70% of the total financial support at the beginning of their mobility period and the remaining 30% when the participants successfully complete their study abroad.

Please also be kindly reminded that participants are responsible for arranging their travel and METU International Cooperations Office is not responsible for travel arrangements and purchasing plane ticket.

*Green Travel

In case the participants prefer sustainable means of transport in both directions (e.g. using railway, maritime transport, car-pooling with other Erasmus+ programme beneficiaries or using bus), the distance-based travel grant is considered as green travel. The grant amount is calculated according to the relevant part of the table. Whether the participants can be considered within the scope of green travel is determined by the submission of the relevant travel documents to the International Cooperation Office and the evaluation of the Turkish National Agency.

INCLUSION SUPPORT & ADDITIONAL GRANT FOR DISADVANTAGED BENEFICIARIES:

For disabled participants, it is possible to receive additional grants to meet their specific needs. In order for the disabled participants to be given additional grants, METU is required to request additional grants from the Turkish National Agency. Applications for additional grants should be made during the term of the contract, but in any case, up to 60 days before the contract end date. The Turkish National Agency will evaluate each application specifically and determine whether the additional grant can be granted, and if so, the appropriate grant amount. Disadvantaged beneficiaries for inclusion support are defined as follows: 

• Those who are subject to Law No. 2828 (Those who have a protection, care or shelter decision by the Ministry of Family and Social Services pursuant to Law No. 2828)
• Students for whom protection, care or accommodation decision has been taken within the scope of Child Protection Law No. 5395
• Those who receive an orphan's pension
• Children of martyrs/veterans
• Those who are entitled to a needy pension for themselves and their families
• Disabled persons (with a disability rate of at least 70% documented by a Disability Health Board report.)
• Those whose parents or guardian receiving disability and/or needy pension under the law no. 2022 dated 01.07.1976.

2024 Proje Bütçesi Erasmus+ KA131 (Avrupa Hareketlilik Programı) 2025-2026 Akademik Yılı GÜZ Dönemi Öğrenci Öğrenim Hareketliliği başvuruları 04.11.2024- 29.11.2024 (saat 17:00'ye kadar) tarihleri arasında yapılacaktır. Başvuru detayları ve anlaşma listeleri aşağıda yer almaktadır. Bu başvuru yalnızca Güz dönemi için alınmaktadır; Bahar dönemi için başvurular daha sonraki bir tarihte alınacaktır. Güz dönemi başvurularında yerleşen bir adayın tercihini Bahar dönemine değiştirmesi mümkün olamayacaktır. Bu sebeple başvuru yaparken bu bilgiyi dikkate alınız

2024 Proje bütçesi kapsamında 2025-2026 Akademik Yılı GÜZ Dönemi Öğrenci Öğrenim Hareketliliği için 50 hibeli, 50 hibesiz olmak üzere toplam 100 öğrenci yerleştirilecektir.

BAŞVURULAN ÜNİVERSİTE KOTALARI: Bu ilan, yalnızca 2025-2026 Akademik Yılı Güz Dönemi için açıldığından, anlaşmalı üniversitelerin kotalarında bir takım sınırlamalar uygulanacaktır. Söz konusu uygulamaya göre, anlaşma listesinde yer alan 2 veya üzeri çift kotaların yarısı; 3 veya 5 kotaların ise sırasıyla 1 veya 3 kotasına yerleştirme yapılacaktır. Tek kotası bulunan üniversiteler için kota sınırlaması bulunmamaktadır (Örnek: 4 kotalı bir üniversiteye 2 kişi; 3 kotalı bir üniversiteye 1 kişi; 5 kotalı bir üniversiteye ise 3 kişi yerleştirilecektir). 

TEMEL UYGUNLUK KRİTERLERİ

Öğrencilerin aşağıdaki hususları dikkate almalarını rica ederiz:

-Erasmus Programına katılmayı planladığı dönem için en az 30 AKTS'lik ODTÜ ders yüküne sahip olmalıdır.

-Ev sahibi üniversitede 30 AKTS ders yükü almalıdır.

-30 AKTS'lik derslerin başarıyla tamamlandığında ilgili derslerin bölümleri tarafından tanınacağından emin olmalıdır.

-Derslerini tamamlamış olan lisansüstü (MA, Ph.D.) öğrencileri de başvurabilir. Yurtdışında aldıkları dersler tez çalışması olarak kabul edilecektir.

Kimler başvurabilir?

-Başvuru sahipleri, başvuru sırasında ODTÜ'de tam zamanlı öğrenci olarak kayıtlı olmalıdır. Statüleri Aktif Öğrenci olmalıdır.

-Başvuru sahipleri ODTÜ'de en az bir yarıyılı tamamlamış olmalıdır (mevcut/kayıtlı olduğu öğrenim seviyesinde)

-Bilimsel Hazırlık öğrencileri ve Temel İngilizce Bölümünde okuyan öğrenciler başvuramaz.

Öğrenciler Erasmus programına aynı düzeydeki öğrenimleri sırasında katılabilirler (lisans öğrencileri lisans öğrenimleri sırasında, yüksek lisans öğrencileri yüksek lisans öğrenimleri sırasında, doktora öğrencileri doktora öğrenimleri sırasında programa katılabilirler).

Başvurunun Başlangıç ve Bitiş Tarihleri

2025/26 akademik yılı için başvuru süresi 04.11.2024 ve 29.11.2024 (saat 17:00'ye kadar) 29.11.2024 saat 17:00'den sonra sisteme giriş yapılamayacak ve destekleyici belge yüklenemeyecektir; ilgili tarih ve saat sonrası yapılan başvuru ve belge teslimleri dikkate alınamayacaktır.

İlk yerleşmenin ardından ikinci bir yerleştirme uygulaması bulunmamaktadır; öğrencilerin ilk yerleştirme sonucu yerleştikleri kurumların değiştirilmesi mümkün değildir.

Öğrenciler mevcut üniversiteler arasından en fazla 4 tercih yapabilirler. Başvurunuzu yaptıktan sonra seçtiğiniz üniversiteleri değiştirmenizin mümkün olmadığını lütfen unutmayın.

Başvuru için Minimum CGPA Şartı

Erasmus programına başvurmayı düşünen lisans öğrencilerinin en az 2,5 ; yüksek lisans öğrencilerinin ise 4,0 üzerinden en az 3,0 genel not ortalamasına sahip olmaları gerekmektedir.

Değişim Programları için İngilizce Yeterliliği

Uluslararası İş Birlikleri Ofisi, 29 Aralık 2021 tarihli Üniversite Senatosu kararına dayanarak artık Değişim Programları için İngilizce Yeterlilik Sınavı (EPEEP) düzenlememektedir.

Bu karar nedeniyle, ODTÜ tarafından tanınan sınavlara ek olarak UİO, ÖSYM (YDS/e-YDS/YÖKDİL) tarafından düzenlenen İngilizce dil sınavlarını da kabul edecektir. Erasmus+  programlarına başvurmak isteyen öğrenciler, son başvuru tarihinden önceki son 5 yıl içinde alınmış bu İngilizce dil puanlarından herhangi birini sunabileceklerdir.

Lütfen ÖSYM tarafından hangi sınavların düzenlendiğini linkten kontrol ediniz ve geçerli ve güncel puanınızı hazırlayınız.

İngilizce Dil Sınavları için Eşdeğerlik Tablosu

Tam zamanlı uluslararası öğrenciler, ODTÜ’ye girişleri sırasında İngilizce sınavından muaf olduklarına dair Uluslararası Öğrenci Ofisi'nden (ISO) aldıkları e-postayı yükleyebilirler(Sadece İngilizce muafiyet kriterlerine uyan uluslararası öğrenciler için geçerlidir. Örneğin, anadili İngilizce olan bir ülkenin vatandaşı olmak veya ortaokul/lise/üniversite eğitimini anadili İngilizce olan bir ülkede tamamlamış olmak). Bu öğrencilerin başvuru sırasında İngilizce puanı olarak "Üniversite Kendi Sınavı" seçeneğini seçmeleri ve notlarını 100 olarak yazmaları gerekmektedir.

Seçim Kriterleri

Türkiye Ulusal Ajansı'nın yönetmeliğine göre, Erasmus+ öğrenci seçiminde genel not ortalamasının %50'si ve İngilizce dil sınavı puanının %50'si dikkate alınır.

Ayrıca, genel not ortalamasının %50'si hesaplanmadan önce, başvuru sahibinin bölüm ve dönem bilgilerine göre genel not ortalamasına aşağıdaki şekilde bir katsayı uygulanır:

Öğrenci CGPA: 3.15

İlgili bölümün başvuru sahibi ile aynı dönemdeki öğrencilerinin genel not ortalaması: 2.89

Oran: 3,15/2,89 = 1,09

25*+1.09=26.09

Genel Erasmus başvuru puanı: 3.15x26.09 = 82.18

*CGPA'nın %50'sini hesaplamak için yakınsak faktör = 25

Ek  Puan Sağlanması ve Şartları

- Şehit ve gazi çocuğu olan öğrencilerin genel puanına 15 puan eklenecektir. Kanıtlayıcı belgelerin başvuru süresi içerisinde online başvuru sistemine yüklenmesi gerekmektedir.

- Engelli öğrencilerin genel puanına 10 puan eklenecektir. Kanıtlayıcı belgelerin başvuru süresi içinde online başvuru sistemine yüklenmesi gerekmektedir.

- 2828 sayılı Sosyal Hizmetler Kanunu kapsamında koruma altında olan öğrencilerin genel puanına 10 puan eklenecektir. Kanıtlayıcı belgelerin başvuru süresi içinde online başvuru sistemine yüklenmesi gerekmektedir.

- Kendisi veya birinci derece yakını AFAD'dan yardım alan öğrencilerin genel puanına 10 puan eklenecektir. Kanıtlayıcı belgelerin (AFAD yardımını gösterir belge e-devlet sisteminden indirilebilir) başvuru süresi içerisinde online başvuru sistemine yüklenmesi gerekmektedir.

- Uluslararası öğrencilerden vatandaşı oldukları ülkeler için başvuru yapanların genel notundan 10 puan düşülecektir.

- Erasmus KA103/131 Hareketlilik programlarına her bir katılım için (öğrenim veya staj için) öğrencilerin genel puanından 10 puan düşülecektir.

- Hem Erasmus öğrenci hem de staj hareketliliğine başvuran öğrencilerden tercihlerinden birine öncelik vermeleri beklenecektir. Tercih online başvuru sırasında belirtilecektir. Öncelik verilmeyen tercihten 10 puan düşülecektir. 

Önemli Uyarı: Öğrenciler başvuru portalında belirtilen sınıf/bölüm ve genel not ortalaması gibi bilgileri kontrol etmekle yükümlüdür; güncel olmayan bilgilerin tespiti durumunda öğrencilerin OİDB ve UİO ile iletişime geçmeleri gerekmektedir. Başvuru/yerleştirme sürecinde ve resmi itiraz döneminde güncellenmeyen bilgiler, sonraki süreçlerde dikkate alınamayacaktır.

Hareketlilik Öğrencileri için Seyahat Desteği ***

***Bu seyahat desteği sadece 2024 proje bütçesinden hibe alacak öğrencilere verilecektir. 

Ekonomik olarak dezavantajlı durumda olan ve 3294 sayılı kanun (Sosyal Yardımlaşma Teşviki) kapsamında muhtaç aylığı alan öğrenciler, seçim sürecinin ardından ek hibe alacaktır. Öğrencinin bu durumu kanıtlayacak resmi belgeleri, seçildikten sonra ibraz etmesi gerekmektedir.

The applications of 2024 Project Budget Erasmus+ KA131 (European Mobility Program) Student Mobility for Studies in the 2025-2026 Academic Year FALL Semester will be held between 04.11.2024 and 29.11.2024 (by 17:00). The details of the application, agreement lists, and last year’s statistics can be found below. This application is for the Fall semester only; Applications for the spring semester will be made at a later date. It will not be possible for a candidate who is accepted for the Fall semester to change his/her preference for the Spring semester. Therefore, please be aware of this when applying.

Within the scope of 2024 Project Budget, 50 granted and 50 non-granted (a total of 100 students) will be placed for Erasmus+ Mobility for 2025/26 Academic Year Fall Semester.

UNIVERSITY QUOTAS: Since this announcement is only open for the Fall Semester of the 2025-2026 Academic Year, some restrictions will be applied to the quotas of the partner universities. According to the application in question, placement will be made to half of the 2 or more double quotas in the agreement list If there are 3 or 5 quotas, placement will be made for 1 quota or 3 quotas respectively. There is no quota limitation for universities with a single quota (Example: 2 students will be placed in a university with 4 quotas; 1 student will be placed in a university with 3 quotas; and 3 students will be placed in a university with 5 quotas).

KEY ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Please bear in mind that students:

-Must have METU course load of minimum 30 ECTS for the semester in which s/he plans to participate Erasmus Program

-Must take 30 ECTS course load at the host university

-Make sure that 30 ECTS courses will be recognized by their departments upon successful completion

-Graduate (MA, Ph.D.) students who have completed their course can also apply. Their courses taken abroad will be recognized as thesis studies.

Who can apply?

Applicants must be registered at METU as full-degree students at the time of application. Their status should be Active Student.

Applicants must complete at least one semester at METU (at their current educational level)

Conditional Program (Bilimsel Hazırlık) students and students studying in the Department of Basic English are not eligible to apply.

Please note that:

Students can participate in the Erasmus program during their studies at the same level (undergraduate students can participate in the program during their undergraduate studies, master's students can participate in the program during their master's studies, Ph.D. students can participate in the program during their Ph.D. studies). 

Start and End Dates of the Application

Application period for the 2025/26 academic year FALL Semester is 04.11.2024 and 29.11.2024 (by 17:00). After 29.11.2024 at 17:00, it will not be possible to log in to the system and upload supporting documents; applications and document submissions made after the relevant date and time will not be taken into account.

There will be no secondary placement after the students are placed in one of their choices; it is not possible to change the institutions where students are placed as a result of the first placement.

Students can make a maximum 4 choices from the available universities. Please bear in mind that it is not possible to change your chosen universities after submitting the application.

Minimum CGPA Requirement for Application

Undergraduate students who are considering to apply for the Erasmus program should have at least 2, 5 CGPA, and graduate students should have at least 3, 0 CGPA over 4, 0.

English Proficiency for Exchange Programs

International Cooperations Office is no longer holding English Proficiency Exam for Exchange Programs (EPEEP) based on the University Senate decision given on December 29, 2021.

Due to this decision, effective of our new applications period in 2022, in addition to the exams that are recognized by METU, ICO will accept English language exams that are organized by OSYM (YDS/e-YDS/YÖKDİL). Students interested in applying to Erasmus+, will be able to submit any of these English language scores taken within the last 5 years before the application period deadlines.

**** Full-time international students can upload the e-mail that they received from International Students Office (ISO) about their exemption from English exam during their registration at METU(Only for international students who meet the English exemption criteria. For example, being a citizen of a native English-speaking country or having completed secondary school/high school/university education in a native English-speaking country). During the application process, these students need to choose “Üniversite Kendi Sınavı” option as English score and write their grade as 100.

Selection Criteria

According to the regulations of the Turkish National Agency, 50% of CGPA and 50% of the English language test score are considered in electing prospective Erasmus students.

Besides, before calculating the 50% of the CGPA, a coefficient is applied on the CGPA according to the applicants' department and semester information as below:

 Student CGPA: 3.15

*the convergent factor to calculate 50% of the CGPA = 25

 Additional Points and the Criteria

-  15 points will be added to the overall score of the students who are the children of martyries and veterans. The proving documents must be submitted to the online application system during the application period.

-  10 points will be added to the overall score of students with disabilities. The proving documents must be submitted to the online application system during the application period.

-  10 points will be added to the overall score of the students who are who have been under protection by 2828 Social Services Law. The proving documents must be submitted to the online application system during the application period.

- 10 points will be added to the overall score of the students who themselves or their first-degree relatives receive aid from AFAD. The proving documents (the document which shows the AFAD aid could be downloaded from e-devlet system) must be submitted to the online application system during the application period.

- 10 point will be deduced from the overall grade of those international students who apply for the countries that they have their citizenships.

-  10 points will be decreased from the overall score of the students for each participation of the Erasmus KA103/131 Mobility programs (either for studies or traineeships).

- The students who apply for both Erasmus student and traineeship mobility will be expected to give priority to one of their choices. The preference will be indicated during the online application. 10 points will be decreased from the choice that is not prioritized.

 Important Warning:  Please note that Students are responsible for checking the information specified in the application portal such as class/department and GPA; in case of outdated information, students should contact the Office of the Registrar as well as ICO. Information that is not updated during the application/placement process and during the official appeal period will not be taken into account in subsequent processes.

Travel Support for Mobility Students***

***This travel support can only be given to the students who will be granted from 2024 project budget.  

The students who are economically disadvantaged and getting needy pension under the law numbered 3294 (Incentive for Social Solidary) will get additional funding  after the selection process. The student should submit the official documents to prove this situation.

In case of budget limitations, it is also possible to participate in the program without receiving a grant if you are placed to one of the available quotas at the end of the selection process. Those participants with zero grant have to fulfill the rights and obligations of the program.

Students who would like to withdraw from the Erasmus programme should inform ICO about the withdrawal decision latest by December 31, 2024. Please bear in mind that students who withdraw from the programme after December 31 2024, except for the force-majeure cases, will lose 10 points for their future Erasmus applications at the same study cycle (academic level).

Erasmus+ Avrupa Stajı için başvurular 04.11.2024- 29.11.2024 tarihleri arasında saat 17:00'ye kadar yapılacaktır. Başvuru detayları aşağıda yer almaktadır.

2024 Proje bütçesi kapsamında Staj Hareketliliği için toplam 60 hibeli öğrenci yerleştirilecektir.  2024 Projesi “Dare To Act” Adlı Konsorsiyum bütçesi kapsamında ise Staj Hareketliliği için toplam 2 Hibeli öğrenci yerleştirilecektir.

ÖNEMLİ

-Staj faaliyeti, belirli bir müfredat kapsamında araştırma ödevleri veya analiz çalışmaları gibi akademik ve bilimsel çalışmaların yürütülmesi için kullanılamaz. Öğrencilerin bilimsel araştırma ve proje gibi kendi bilimsel çalışmalarını tamamlamak veya desteklemek amacıyla yürüttükleri faaliyetler staj faaliyeti olarak kabul edilmez. Bu faaliyetlerin staj faaliyeti olarak kabul edilebilmesi için akademik çalışmalarda değil, ilgili sektörde ekonomik olarak uygulanabilir mesleki faaliyetler olarak gerçekleştirilmesi gerekmektedir.

Başvuru süresi 04.11.2024- 29.11.2024 tarihleri arasındadır. Başvuru süresi saat 17:00'de sona erecektir.  29.11.2024 saat 17:00'den sonra sisteme giriş yapılamayacak ve destekleyici belge yüklenemeyecektir; ilgili tarih ve saat sonrası yapılan başvuru ve belge teslimleri dikkate alınamayacaktır.

Nasıl Başvuru Yapılır?

Öğrenciler https://turnaportal.ua.gov.tr/  linki üzerinden Program aracılığıyla online başvuru yaparlar.

Online başvurular sırasında başvuru sahiplerinden sisteme kabul mektubu yüklemeleri gerekmektedir. Geç başvurular kabul edilmeyecektir.

Kabul mektupları imzalı, kaşeli ve antetli kağıda yazılmalı ve aşağıdaki bilgileri içermelidir:

- staj tarihleri ve konusu

- stajın gerçekleşeceği kurumun adı

- mektubu imzalayan kişinin adı ve görevi

Kabul mektuplarında, başvuru sahiplerinin araştırmacı olarak değil stajyer olarak çalışacakları belirtilmelidir. "Araştırma" veya "bilimsel çalışma" gibi kavramları içeren mektuplar kabul edilmeyecektir.

Stajın 31 Aralık 2025 tarihinden önce tamamlanmış olması gerekmektedir.

Başvurunun geçerli olabilmesi için kabul mektuplarının yukarıda sıralanan kriterlere göre hazırlanmış olması gerekmektedir. Başvuru süresi içerisinde kabul mektuplarında değişiklik yapılması mümkün olacaktır.

Başvurunun 29.11.2024 tarihi saat 17:00'ye kadar tamamlanmış olması gerekmektedir. Kabul mektubunun uygunluğuna, bu saate kadar online başvuru sistemine yüklenen son versiyon üzerinden karar verilecektir. Bu nedenle, son başvuru tarihinden sonra düzenlenmiş herhangi bir belgenin yüklenmesi mümkün olmayacaktır.

Sisteme yüklenen kabul mektupları ICO tarafından geri bildirim almayacaktır.

Başvuru için minimum CGPA Koşululu

Erasmus programına başvurmayı düşünen lisans öğrencilerinin en az 2,5 ; yüksek lisans öğrencilerinin ise 4,0 üzerinden en az 3,0 genel not ortalamasına sahip olmaları gerekmektedir.

Değişim Programları için İngilizce Yeterlilik Sınavı

***Başvuru sahiplerinin, son 5 yıl içinde alınan İngilizce dil puanlarından herhangi birini başvuru döneminin son tarihinden önce sunmaları gerekmektedir.

Kabul Edilen İngilizce Dil Sınavları:

Uluslararası İş Birlikleri Ofisi, 29 Aralık 2021 tarihli Üniversite Senatosu kararına dayanarak artık Değişim Programları için İngilizce Yeterlilik Sınavı (EPEEP) düzenlememektedir.

Erasmus+ programına başvurmak isteyen öğrenciler, son başvuru tarihinden önceki son 5 yıl içinde alınmış bu İngilizce dil puanlarından herhangi birini sunabileceklerdir.

Lütfen ÖSYM tarafından hangi sınavların düzenlendiğini linkten kontrol ediniz ve geçerli puanınızı hazırlayınız.

Equivalence Table for English Exams

**** Tam zamanlı uluslararası öğrenciler, İngilizce sınavından muaf olduklarına dair Uluslararası Öğrenciler Ofisi'nden (ISO) aldıkları e-postayı yükleyebilirler (Sadece İngilizce muafiyet kriterlerine uyan uluslararası öğrenciler için geçerlidir. Örneğin anadili İngilzce olan bir ülkenin vatandaşı olmak veya ortaokul/lise/üniversite eğitimini anadili İngilizce olan bir ülkede tamamlamış olmak). Bu öğrencilerin başvuru sırasında İngilizce puanı olarak "Üniversite Kendi Sınavı" seçeneğini seçmeleri ve notlarını 100 olarak yazmaları gerekmektedir.

Seçim Kriterleri

Türkiye Ulusal Ajansı'nın yönetmeliğine göre, Erasmus öğrenci seçiminde genel not ortalamasının %50'si ve İngilizce dil sınavı puanının %50'si dikkate alınır.

Ayrıca, genel not ortalamasının %50'si hesaplanmadan önce, başvuru sahibinin bölüm ve dönem bilgilerine göre genel not ortalamasına aşağıdaki gibi bir katsayı uygulanır:

Öğrenci CGPA: 3.15

İlgili bölümün başvuru sahibi ile aynı dönemdeki öğrencilerinin genel not ortalaması: 2.89

Oran: 3,15/2,89 = 1,09

25*+1.09=26.09

Genel Erasmus başvuru puanı: 3.15x26.09 = 82.18

*CGPA'nın %50'sini hesaplamak için yakınsak faktör = 25

Ek  Puan Sağlanması ve Şartları

- Şehit ve gazi çocuğu olan öğrencilerin genel puanına 15 puan eklenecektir. Kanıtlayıcı belgelerin başvuru süresi içerisinde online başvuru sistemine yüklenmesi gerekmektedir.

- Engelli öğrencilerin genel puanına 10 puan eklenecektir. Kanıtlayıcı belgelerin başvuru süresi içinde online başvuru sistemine yüklenmesi gerekmektedir.

- 2828 sayılı Sosyal Hizmetler Kanunu kapsamında koruma altında olan öğrencilerin genel puanına 10 puan eklenecektir. Kanıtlayıcı belgelerin başvuru süresi içinde online başvuru sistemine yüklenmesi gerekmektedir.

- Kendisi veya birinci derece yakını AFAD'dan yardım alan öğrencilerin genel puanına 10 puan eklenecektir. Kanıtlayıcı belgelerin (AFAD yardımını gösterir belge e-devlet sisteminden indirilebilir) başvuru süresi içerisinde online başvuru sistemine yüklenmesi gerekmektedir.

- Dijital Fırsat Stajları kapsamında (siber güvenlik, büyük veri, dijital pazarlama, yazılım geliştirme, sosyal medya yönetimi vb) staj faaliyeti yapacak öğrencilerin genel puanına 5 puan eklenecektir. Bu seçeneği çevrimiçi başvurunuz sırasında seçebilirsiniz ve kabul mektuplarınız, stajınızın içerik olarak bu kapsamda olduğunu doğrulamak için ICO tarafından incelenecektir. Bu ekstra puanı almak için mektuplarda stajın Dijital Fırsat Stajı kapsamında olacağı açıkça belirtilmelidir.

- Uluslararası öğrencilerden vatandaşı oldukları ülkeler için başvuru yapanların genel notundan 10 puan düşülecektir.

- Erasmus KA103/131 Hareketlilik programlarına her bir katılım için (öğrenim veya staj için) öğrencilerin genel puanından 10 puan düşülecektir.

- Hem Erasmus öğrenci hem de staj hareketliliğine başvuran öğrencilerden tercihlerinden birine öncelik vermeleri beklenecektir. Tercih online başvuru sırasında belirtilecektir. Öncelik verilmeyen tercihten 10 puan düşülecektir. 

Önemli Uyarı: Öğrenciler başvuru portalında belirtilen sınıf/bölüm ve genel not ortalaması gibi bilgileri kontrol etmekle yükümlüdür; güncel olmayan bilgilerin tespiti durumunda öğrencilerin OİDB ve UİO ile iletişime geçmeleri gerekmektedir. Başvuru/yerleştirme sürecinde ve resmi itiraz döneminde güncellenmeyen bilgiler, sonraki süreçlerde dikkate alınamayacaktır.

Faaliyet Süresi

Faaliyetin süresi, her bir kademe için ayrı ayrı geçerli olmak üzere 2 ila 12 ay arasındadır. Staj süresi 2 aydan (60 gün) az olamaz.

Öğrenciler Erasmus programına birden fazla kez katılabilirler. Aynı öğrenci, hareketlilik faaliyetlerinin sayısı ve türünden bağımsız olarak, her bir öğrenim döngüsü (lisans, yüksek lisans ve doktora) için toplam 12 aya kadar hareketlilik süreleri için hibe alabilir. Bu, Erasmus staj hareketliliği ve Erasmus öğrenci hareketliliği için ve bir öğrenci için belirli bir öğrenim döngüsünde Erasmus hibelerinin süresinin en fazla 12 ay olabileceği anlamına gelmektedir.

Ancak, daha fazla sayıda öğrenciye hareketlilik imkânı sağlamak amacıyla ve bütçe sınırlamaları nedeniyle, hibe verilen dönemin azami süresi 2 ay ile sınırlandırılmıştır. Bu dönem için seçilen Erasmus+ kursiyerleri 2 aylık bir dönem için Erasmus hibesi alabileceklerdir.

Hareketlilik Öğrencileri için Seyahat Desteği ***

***Bu seyahat desteği sadece 2024 proje bütçesinden hibe alacak öğrencilere verilecektir. 

Ekonomik olarak dezavantajlı durumda olan ve 3294 sayılı kanun (Sosyal Yardımlaşma Teşviki) kapsamında muhtaç aylığı alan öğrenciler, seçim sürecinden sonra ek hibe alacaktır. Öğrenci bu durumu kanıtlamak için resmi belgeleri sunmalıdır.

Bütçe kısıtlaması olması durumunda herhangi bir hibe almadan da programa katılmak mümkündür. Programa hibesiz olarak katılmak isteyen adayların başvuru yapmaları ve başvurularının diğerleri gibi değerlendirilmesi gerekmektedir. Hibesiz katılımcılar programın hak ve yükümlülüklerini yerine getirmek zorundadırlar.

Erasmus staj programından çekilmek isteyen öğrencilerin en geç 31 Aralık 2024 tarihine kadar çekilme kararlarını UİO'ya bildirmeleri gerekmektedir. ÖNEMLİ UYARI

Önceki yıllardaki öğrencilerin deneyimleri nedeniyle Dpoint Group ve Anidra Halk Üniversitesi'nden alınan kabul mektupları kabul edilmeyecektir. Lütfen staj yerinizi dikkatli seçiniz.

 Berlin merkezli "Traineeland" adlı kuruluşun Avrupa'nın farklı ülkelerinden öğrenciler tarafından dolandırıcı bir kuruluş olarak rapor edildiğini lütfen unutmayın. Size sunacakları herhangi bir potansiyel staj fırsatı için Traineeland ile iletişime geçmemenizi tavsiye ederiz. Traineeland'dan gelen kabul mektupları Erasmus+ stajları için kabul edilmeyecektir. 

Öğrencilerin staj dönemi için vize almaları gerekebilir. Lütfen vize işlemlerinin uzun sürebileceğini ve öğrencilerin vize başvurusu için ücret ödemeleri gerekebileceğini unutmayınız. Lütfen ilgili ülkenin büyükelçiliğine danışınız.

The applications for Erasmus+ European Traineeship 2024 Project will be held between 04.11.2024– 29.11.2024, by 17:00. The details of the application can be found below.

Within the scope of 2024 Project Budget, 60 students will be granted for Erasmus+ Traineeship Mobility.

Within the scope of 2024 Project “Dare to Act” Consorsium Budget, 2 students will be granted as part of Erasmus+ Traineeship Mobility.

IMPORTANT

Please bear in mind that:

-Traineeship activity cannot be used to carry out academic and scientific studies such as research assignments or analysis studies within the scope of a specific curriculum. Activities conducted by students in order to complete or support their own scientific studies like scientific researches and projects are not accepted as internship activities. In order for these activities to be accepted as traineeship activities, they should be carried out as professional activities that are economically viable in the related sector, not in academic studies.

-The following organizations are not eligible for Erasmus + traineeship activity:

·        EU institutions and agencies https://european-union.europa.eu/institutions-law-budget/institutions-and-bodies/search-all-eu-institutions-and-bodies_en

·        National Agencies and similar institutions carrying out EU programs

 -Make sure that traineeship activity will be recognized by the departments upon successful completion.

Who can apply?

·       Applicants must be registered at METU as full-degree students at the time of application. Student status should be Active.

·       Applicants must complete at least one semester at METU.

·       Conditional Program (Bilimsel Hazırlık) students and students studying in the Department of Basic English are not eligible to apply.

Start and End Dates of the Application

The application period is 04.11.2024– 29.11.2024. The application period ends by 17:00. After 29.11.2024 at 17:00, it will not be possible to log in to the system and upload supporting documents; applications and document submissions made after the relevant date and time will not be taken into account.

How to Apply?

 Students apply online via Program through link https://turnaportal.ua.gov.tr/  

You can access the application guide in Turkish and English.

During the online applications, applicants will be asked to submit an acceptance letter to the system. Late submissions will not be accepted. 

The acceptance letters should be signed, stamped and written on a letterhead (antetli kağıt) and include:

- dates & subject of the traineeship

- name of the institution where the traineeship will take place

- name and function of the person who signs the letter

In the acceptance letters, it should be specified that the applicants will work as a trainee rather than a researcher. Those letters including such notions as “research” or “scientific study” will not be accepted. 

The traineeship should be completed before 31 December 2025.

For the application to be valid, the acceptance letters should be prepared according to the criteria listed above. It will be possible to make changes in the acceptance letters during the application period.

The application should be completed by 29.11.2024 before 17:00. The appropriateness of the acceptance letter will be decided on the last version that is uploaded to the online application system by this time. Hence, it will not be possible to upload any edited document after the deadline.

The acceptance letters uploaded to the system will not receive feedback from ICO. 

Minimum CGPA requirement for Application

Undergraduate students who are considering applying for the Erasmus program should have at least 2,5 CGPA and graduate students should have at least 3,0 CGPA over 4,0.

English Proficiency Exam for Exchange Programs

***Applicants need to submit any of these English language scores taken within the last 5 years before the application period deadlines.

Accepted English Language Exams:

-English language exams recognized by METU (EPE, TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, etc). Please bear in mind that Internationally recognized exams (IELTS and TOEFL) have specific requirements for accepted exams, consult the below link by the METU Registrar: https://oidb.metu.edu.tr/tr/odtu-tarafindan-kabul-edilen-ingilizce-yeterlik-sinavlari-es-degerlik-tablosu 

-English language exams organized by OSYM (YDS/e-YDS/YÖKDİL).

International Cooperations Office is no longer holding English Proficiency Exam for Exchange Programs (EPEEP) based on the University Senate decision given on December 29, 2021.

Due to this decision, effective of our new applications period in 2023, in addition to the exams that are recognized by METU, ICO will accept English language exams that are organized by OSYM (YDS/e-YDS/YÖKDİL). Students interested in applying to Erasmus+ Program will be able to submit any of these English language scores taken within the last 5 years before the application period deadlines.

Equivalence Table for English Exams

**** Full-time international students can upload the e-mail that they received from International Students Office (ISO) about their exemption from English exam during their registration to METU (Only for international students who meet the English exemption criteria. For example, being a citizen of a native English-speaking country or having completed secondary school/high school/university education in a native English-speaking country). During the application process, these students need to choose “Üniversite Kendi Sınavı” option as English score and write their grade as 100.

Selection Criteria

According to the regulations of the Turkish National Agency, 50% of CGPA and 50% of the English language test score are taken into account in electing prospective Erasmus students. Besides, before calculating the 50% of the CGPA, a coefficient is applied on the CGPA according to the applicants' department and semester information as below:

Student CGPA: 3.15

*the convergent factor to calculate 50% of the CGPA = 25

Additional Points and the Criteria

-  15 points will be added to the overall score of the students who are the children of martyries and veterans. The proving documents must be submitted to the online application system during the application period.

-  10 points will be added to the overall score of students with disabilities. The proving documents must be submitted to the online application system during the application period.

-  10 points will be added to the overall score of the students who are who have been under protection by 2828 Social Services Law. The proving documents must be submitted to the online application system during the application period.

- 10 points will be added to the overall score of the students who themselves or their first-degree relatives receive aid from AFAD. The proving documents (the document which shows the AFAD aid could be downloaded from e-devlet system) must be submitted to the online application system during the application period.

- 5 points will be added to the overall score of the students who will do a traineeship activity that’s in scope of Digital Opportunity Traineeships (cybersecurity, big data, digital marketing, software development, social media management etc.). You can select this option during your online application and your acceptance letters will be examined by ICO to confirm that your traineeship is in this scope in content. The letters should clearly mention that the traineeship will be within the scope of a Digital Opportunity Traineeship to receive this extra point.

- 10 points will be deduced from the overall grade of those international students who apply for the countries that they have their citizenships.

-  10 points will be decreased from the overall score of the students for each participation of the Erasmus KA103/131 Mobility programs (either for studies or traineeships).

- The students who apply for both Erasmus student and traineeship mobility will be expected to give priority to one of their choices. The preference will be indicated during the online application. 10 points will be decreased from the choice that is not prioritized.

 Important:  Please note that students are responsible for checking the information specified in the application portal such as class/department and GPA; in case of outdated information, students should contact the Office of the Registrar as well as ICO. Information that is not updated during the application/placement process and during the official appeal period will not be taken into account in subsequent processes.

Duration of the Activity

The duration of the activity is between 2 and 12 months, valid separately for each degree level. The traineeship period cannot be less than 2 months (60 days). 

Students can participate in the Erasmus program more than once. The same student may receive grants for mobility periods totaling up to 12 months per each cycle of study (UG, MS, Ph.D.), independently from the number and type of mobility activities. This means the duration of Erasmus grants for Erasmus traineeship mobility and Erasmus student mobility and in a specific cycle of study for a student can be maximum of 12 months.

However, in order to provide mobility opportunities for a higher number of students and because of the budget limitations, the maximum duration of the granted period is limited to 2 months. The Erasmus+ trainees selected for this period will be able to receive an Erasmus grant for a 2 months-period.

2024 Erasmus traineeship grants in Euros (monthly)

Travel Support ***

***This grant will be provided to students who will receive Erasmus+ grants. 

The students who are economically disadvantaged and getting needles pension under the law numbered 3294 (Incentive for Social Solidary) will get additional grant after the selection process. The student should submit the official documents to prove this situation.

In the case of budget limitations, it is also possible to participate in the program without receiving any grant. Those applicants who would like to participate in the program without a grant need to make the application and their applications need to be evaluated as the others. Those participants with zero grants have to fulfill the rights and obligations of the program.

Students who would like to withdraw from the Erasmus traineeship program should inform ICO about the withdrawal decision latest by December 31, 2024. Please bear in mind that students who withdraw from the program after December 31, 2024 except for the force- majeure cases, will lose 10 points for their future Erasmus applications at the same study cycle (academic level).

IMPORTANT NOTICE 

Due to previous years’ students’ experiences, the acceptance letters taken from Dpoint Group and Anidra People’s University will not be accepted. Please select your traineeship place carefully.

Please note that it is come to our notice that Berlin-based organization named "Traineeland" is being reported by students from different countries in Europe as a scamming organization. We advise you not to engage with Traineeland for any potential traineeship opportunity they would offer. Acceptance letters from Traineeland will not be accepted for Erasmus+ traineeships. 

Students may be required to obtain a visa for the traineeship period. Please keep in mind that visa procedures may take a long time and students may have to pay fees for visa application (fee amounts vary). Please consult with the embassy of the related country.
