Erasmus+ KA107 (Non-European Countries) Staff Mobility for Teaching Assignments Application Results (2nd Call) / 2017-2018 Academic Year

1.0. Main List:

Applicants can check the results by using the numbers assigned for their applications. Applicants have already been informed about their application numbers via e-mail. In case of a problem about application numbers, applicants may a contact with akkol@metu.edu.tr.

 

2.0. Selection Criteria:

Applicants may visit this link in order to learn more about the application criteria used in the Erasmus+ KA107 (Non-European Countries) Staff Mobility for Teaching Assignments.

 

3.0. Required Procedures for Awarded Applications:

Applicants who submitted an invitation e-mail rather than the official invitation letter during the application period should obtain and send the official invitation letter (signed and stamped) to akkol@metu.edu.tr until 9 July 2018.

 

4.0. Withdrawal: 

Participants who would like to withdraw from the program need to inform ICO until 9 July 2018. We would like to remind you that participants who inform ICO after the deadline will need to be subjected to 10 point deduction during the next call according to KA107 program rules.

 

5.0. Duration of the Activities:

According to KA107 program rules, duration of teaching mobility must be minimum 5 working days excluding travel time.

The teaching activity has to comprise a minimum of 8 hours for every 5 working days. For activities that will last more than 5 days, the minimum teaching hour must be calculated in proportion to the minimum requirement (e.g., 16 hours for 10 working days, 24 hours for 15 working days).

The activity must have been finalized by 31 July 2018.

 

6.0. Required Documents: 

Before the Mobility 

  • Official Invitation Letter (signed and stamped by the receiving institution) 
  • Health Insurance 
  • Visa Document (if necessary) 

After the Mobility 

  • Boarding passes (for round trip) 
  • EU Survey (to be sent by ICO advisor)

 

7.0. Erasmus+ Grants:

 

7.1. Daily Grant Amounts

For the mobility period, the grant per day is 160 € for all countries. For the mobility period exceeding 14 days, the grant per day is 112€.

 

7.2. Travel Grant by Distance

In addition to the daily grants, the travel grant is calculated by using the “Distance Calculator” below:

The distance calculator is used to determine the distance between the location where the staff is residing and the place of activity. The kilometers in distance calculated by the distance calculator corresponds to the round-trip and the amount does not get multiplied by two.

7.3. A Sample of Grant Calculation

For example, if you visit USA for 5 working days, the total grant is calculated as follows:

Daily Grant: 160*5 (mobility days) + 160*2 (travel days) = 1120 €

Travel Grant: 1100 €

 Total Grant: 2220 €

 

8.0. Additional Grant for Disabled Participants:

For disabled participants, it is possible to receive additional grants to meet their specific needs. In order for the disabled staff to be given additional grants, METU ICO is required to request additional grants from the Turkish National Agency. The applications for additional grants should be made during the term of the contract, but in any case up to 60 days before the contract end date. The Turkish National Agency will evaluate each application specifically and determine whether the additional grant can be granted, and if so, the appropriate grant amount. 9.0. Objection to Selection Results:

Academic staff who would like to object to the selection results can apply to ICO with a written petition within one week from the date of the announcement. The written applications will be evaluated by the University Exchange Programs Commission.

Applications for Staff Mobility for Teaching to Non-European Countries (funded by Erasmus+ KA107 Program) for the 2017-2018 Academic Year

The application period for second call of Academic Staff Mobility for Teaching to non-European countries (Erasmus+ KA107 Program) has been announced as 19 June 2018 to 29 June 2018.

 

Erasmus+ KA107 Staff Mobility for Teaching Assignments (STA) is a fully funded mobility activity that allows academic staff of a Higher Education Institution (HEI) to teach and carry joint academic/educational activities at a partner HEI in the program countries around the globe. Erasmus+ KA107 Staff Mobility for Teaching Assignments might include a variety of activities such as lecturing, hands-on teaching activities, giving a seminar and organizing a workshop.

 

For this call of Erasmus+ KA107 Staff Mobility for Teaching Assignments, please find the attached list of countries/partner universities, which can be visited. The Program budget can only be used for mobility to the partner universities in the list specific to this call. Funding cannot be provided for mobility towards universities other than those in the attached list.

 

1. Application Conditions (Minimum Requirements):

  • Applicants must be a member of METU and they must actively work at the time of application,
  • Applicants must be employed for teaching and lecturing at METU (i.e. staff who works as Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor)
  • Applicants are expected to get in touch with the preferred HEI (from the list) and receive an acceptance letter (or e-mail) prior to the application deadline 29 June 2018.

 

2. Application Procedure & Application Documents

Step 1: Check the attached Partner list to see availability of funding for country/university for this specific call.

Step 2: Obtain an Acceptance Letter and fill in the Application form. An acceptance letter is a pre-admission document/e-mail sent by an official from the preferred partner university. You can find a draft for pre-admission letter for your use attached.

Important note: Applications of those candidates who have not received pre-admission will not be evaluated in the selection process.

Step 3: Application documents must be sent to akkol@metu.edu.tr by 29 June 2018. All applications will be evaluated by METU ICO and results will be announced at www.ico.metu.edu.tr

4. Duration of the Activities

According to KA107 program rules, duration of teaching mobility ranges from 5 days to 2 months (max.) excluding travel time. In order to learn the maximum duration of the teaching activity that can be funded, please check the Partner list for this call.

 

In the list, “maximum week” column indicates the maximum number of weeks available in the related country budget. For those countries which have a budget to support more than one week, it may be possible to allocate the whole budget for one teaching staff, if there is only one applicant. In case of having more than one application, the available budget will be shared among applicants according to program rules.

 

For one-week participation, the teaching activity has to comprise a minimum of 8 hours of teaching per week (5 days). For teaching activities that will last more than one week, the minimum teaching hour must be calculated in proportion to the minimum requirement (e.g., 16 hours/2 weeks, 24 hours/3 weeks).

 

Important note: If the teaching activity/teaching hours last less than the minimum requirements, the activity is considered as void by the funding body and the grant payment will not be made for the related activity.

 

The activity must take place until 31 July 2018.

 

5. Erasmus+ Funding Amounts

6. Additional Grant for Disabled Participants

For disabled participants, it is possible to receive additional grants to meet their specific needs. In order for the disabled staff to be given additional grants, the beneficiary higher education institution is required to request additional grants from the Turkish National Agency. The applications for additional grants should be made during the term of the contract, but in any case up to 60 days before the contract end date. The Turkish National Agency will evaluate each application specifically and determine whether the additional grant can be granted, and if so, the appropriate grant amount. 7. Erasmus Staff Mobility without Grant (Zero-Grant)

It is possible to participate in Erasmus staff mobility programme without a grant. Those staff members who would like to participate in the programme without a grant need to submit an application and their applications need to be evaluated along with all the others. Those participants with zero grant also have to fulfill rights and obligations of the program.
