Middle East Technical University (METU) International Summer Program 2026 (More than a summer-a gateway to the future!)
An Intensive Academic and Cultural Journey in the Heart of Türkiye
Dates: July 6–24, 2026 (subject to change by ±1 week) (3 weeks)
A few days before the official program starts, participants will attend an orientation program and complete course registration.
Location: METU Main Campus, Ankara, Türkiye
Join METU’s International Summer Program, designed for students from around the world who want to combine academic excellence with cultural exploration. Students from both partner and non-partner universities can register and choose one or more credit-bearing courses across diverse disciplines.

Course List and Syllabi
Each course includes 6 ECTS and comprises a total of 42 hours of instruction over 3 weeks.
All courses will require a minimum of 10 registered students to be offered. If the registered number is not reached, course fees will be fully refunded.
You can find the list of courses to be offered during the Summer Program, along with their detailed syllabi, below. These courses have been carefully selected to offer both academic depth and regional relevance and are taught by distinguished faculty members of METU.
- Introduction to Turkiye's Cultural Heritage
- Introduction to Turkish Literature (Includes an intense field trip and should be considered as a single course, as students will not be able to attend other classes during the trip.)
- Game Development Pipeline
- Foundations of Sports in Education and Society
- Architecture In-SITU/Encountering Cultural Heritage Across Turkiye's Multi-Layered Towns: The Case of Ankara
Fees
Application Fee: €50 (non-refundable)
Course Fees:
- Introduction to Turkish Literature: €1700 (Includes an intense field trip with 3 nights of accommodation and transportation included. This course should be considered as a single option, as students will not be able to attend other classes during the trip.)
- Architecture in-SITU: €800
- Foundations of Sports in Education and Society: €1050
- Introduction to Turkiye's Cultural Heritage: €950
- Game Development Pipeline: €900
Accomodation:
Accommodation will be available in on-campus dormitories, offering students the opportunity to stay within walking distance of all program activities.
Please note that accommodation fees are not included in the application or course fees and will be announced separately. Applications for housing will be collected after student applications are completed.
Application Process

Initial applications are open until 15 April 2026.

After submitting the initial application form, applicants will receive a personal application system link by e-mail. Through this link, they will be asked to complete their application and pay the application fee.

Once this step is finalized, admission letters will be issued.

The final deadline to complete the application and payment is 15 May 2026.
