We are delighted to share that Middle East Technical University (METU) is celebrating its 70th anniversary, marking seven decades of academic excellence, scientific contribution, and societal impact.
Since its establishment in 1956, METU has played a pioneering role in higher education in Türkiye and beyond, shaping generations of critical thinkers, researchers, and global citizens. Over the past 70 years, the University’s influence has extended far beyond its campus, contributing to scientific advancement, innovation, and international cooperation.
As the International Cooperation Office, we are proud to have been part of this journey since the early 1990s, accompanying METU’s growing international engagement and global outreach. Over the years, our Office has supported the University’s internationalization efforts by fostering strategic partnerships, coordinating academic mobility programs, and strengthening METU’s presence in global higher education networks.
