Warm greetings from the National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST), Islamabad.
We hope you are doing well. As part of NUST’s ongoing efforts to expand international academic collaboration and promote global knowledge exchange, we are pleased to invite your esteemed institution to participate in our Visiting Faculty Exchange Program for 2026. This program has been designed to encourage meaningful academic engagement, strengthen long-term partnerships, and bring distinguished faculty members from around the world to teach, interact, and collaborate with our diverse academic community.
Program Overview
The Visiting Faculty Program at NUST provides opportunities for international faculty members to join us either for a short-term academic visit of one week or for a full semester-long placement.
Short-term visits are ideal for delivering guest lectures, conducting workshops, engaging in curriculum discussions, and initiating research conversations. Semester-long placements are more immersive and allow visiting scholars to take on partial or full teaching responsibilities, work closely with research groups, supervise postgraduate students, and develop joint research or curricular initiatives with NUST faculty.
We welcome participation across a wide range of disciplines offered at NUST, including engineering, computer science, biotechnology, management sciences, natural sciences, and the social sciences.
Support and Facilitation by NUST
NUST offers comprehensive support to ensure that visiting faculty members have a productive and comfortable stay. Short-term visitors are provided complimentary on-campus accommodation or guest house facilities, local hospitality, and administrative support for all academic engagements.
Faculty visiting for a full semester receive a monthly salary aligned with their academic rank, on-campus accommodation, and complete access to all academic and research facilities, including laboratories, libraries, and innovation centers.
Purpose and Expected Academic Contribution
This program is part of NUST’s broader commitment to fostering academic diplomacy, enhancing global academic mobility, and enriching the learning environment for our students. Visiting faculty play a key role in this process by bringing diverse perspectives to the classroom, contributing to curriculum development, supporting collaborative research, and helping build new bridges between institutions. During their stay, visiting faculty are encouraged to deliver lectures, lead workshops or seminars, collaborate with departmental colleagues on research initiatives, and participate in academic discussions. At the end of their engagement, faculty members are also requested to share a brief reflection report outlining the outcomes of their visit.
Application and Nomination Process
Faculty members may apply directly or be nominated by the partner university. Applications should include
- A detailed curriculum vitae, a passport copy valid for at least six months
- A short teaching or research plan outlining the proposed activities during the visit
- A nomination letter from the home institution where possible.
- A brief professional biography is also appreciated for internal circulation.
Once submitted, the NUST International Office will coordinate with relevant academic departments to identify suitable placements and finalize the academic match.
