International Cooperations Office (ICO) co-ordinates the Orientation Program for Exchange and Visiting students each semester (Fall / Spring). The Orientation program usually starts one week prior to the beginning of semester. All Exchange and Visiting students are expected to attend this Orientation Program.

The Orientation Program is designed to support Exchange and Visiting students’ adaptation to campus life. The Program also includes activities that will contribute to students’ adaptation to the University, Campus, and friends.

The Orientation Program consists of information sessions about administrative issues such as residence permit, how to use campus facilities, course registrations as well as outstanding seminars organized by academic departments (e.g. Sociology, Psychology, International Relations etc.) and administrative units. During the Orientation Program, tours in Ankara and its surroundings as well as social activities for evenings and weekends are also organized in collaboration with International Student Exchange Network (student club).

During the Orientation Program, the first meeting “Beginning Turkish I Course” takes place. For those students who would like to take “Beginning Turkish I Course”, attendance in the first meeting is compulsory. However, it is optional to take it as a credit course during the semester.
