MEVLANA Program is inactive for the time being.
According to regulations of Mevlana Exchange Programme set by Turkish Higher Educational Council, students can benefit from the programme only once in the same academic level (Undergraduate, Master, PhD). If students would like to benefit from the program in different academic levels, they can only do it without getting scholarship.
International students at METU are not eligible to study in their home countries within the framework of the Mevlana program.
Scholarships and Tuition Fees
Amount of scholarhip that will be paid to outgoing students during their exchange program differs according to living standards of the destination country.
Mevlana scholarship will be paid in two installments. The first installment will be paid in the beginning of the Mevlana mobility as 80% of the total scholarship (each semester is considered 4 months). For the payment of the remaining amount, the rate of the total credits that the student is obliged to take over the total credits that the student has passed is taken into account. "(each semester is considered as 4 months). For the payment of the remaining scholarship, the rate of the total credits that the student is obliged to take over the total credits that the student has passed is taken into account.
Other scholarships and credits of the students shall continue during the Mevlana Exchange Program.
Students continue to pay the tuition fee to their home institution and do not pay tuition fee to host institution during their Mevlana exchange period.
In order to implement the "full recognition" rule within the framework of Erasmus+ and other exchange programs in a healthy way, with the decision of METU Exchange Programs Commission dated 05.02.2024, all courses taken by students within the scope of exchange programs must be included in the METU transcripts, the successful courses will be indicated with a separate statement and their METU equivalents will be written, and the unsuccessful courses will be indicated in the remarks section of the transcripts together with their names and course codes from the host institution.
Therefore, as of 05.02.2024, the updated Academic Confirmation Form Return document must be used in the course substitution processes carried out in METU Departments/Faculties and Institutes. It is mandatory to indicate all the successful and unsuccessful courses taken at the hosting institution in this updated form.
