Dear New Morehead-Cain Global Fellows Nominating Partners,
Greetings from Chapel Hill! We hope this note finds you well as we share a few important updates.
Our inaugural Morehead-Cain Global Fellows have just completed their first month at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and we couldn’t be more excited about how well they’re settling into campus life. These remarkable students are already making their mark in classrooms, research labs, and student organizations across campus. Watching their early success has been incredibly rewarding, and we are excited to grow our program by adding nominees from your organization.
That also means it is time to begin the journey of selecting our second cohort of Global Fellows! The nomination and application process for this next cycle will officially open on October 10, with nominations remaining open until November 10. Applications must be completed by 8:00 a.m. EST on November 17.
To support you and your prospective nominees, we’re hosting two virtual information sessions:
- Thursday, October 10 at 12:00 p.m. EDT https://unc.zoom.us/j/98134878658
- Wednesday, October 22 at 9:00 a.m. EDT https://unc.zoom.us/j/98134878658
Students selected for the 2026–2027 Global Fellows Program must have completed four semesters of undergraduate studies by August 2026, will graduate in or after Spring 2028, and be in the top 25 percent of the student body at their home university. They must receive a nomination from a partner university or leadership organization.
The success of our inaugural Global Fellows program isn’t possible without outstanding partners dedicated to helping exceptional students participate in the Morehead-Cain Global Fellows program. We’re grateful for your collaboration and are honored to work together to identify and welcome our next cohort of Global Fellows to Chapel Hill.
Looking forward to meeting your students and adding their unique perspectives to grow our program!
