We are happy to invite sport faculty/department teachers to participate in our International Teacher Week 2025, taking place at the Vierumäki Campus from September 22nd to 26th. We're excited to announce that we already have 17 participants from higher education and vocational institutions confirmed, and we would be delighted to welcome a couple more!
This year's program is packed with engaging sessions and unique Finnish experiences designed to foster professional development and international collaboration. Highlights include:
  • Introduction to the Finnish education system and culture: Gain insights into what makes Finnish education unique.
  • Opportunity to Teach Our Students: Participants will have the chance to teach our students during teaching sessions and/or job shadowing on Tuesday and/or Thursday.
  • Sport Psychology Lectures and Workshops: Sessions by experts like Mikael Wallsbeck from Bosön, Sweden, focusing on practical applications in sports environments.
  • Interactive Session on Team Dynamics: Kayleigh Karinen, Finnish American 4xWorld champion athlete, will lead a session on building environments where mistakes are embraced as catalysts for learning and growth.
  • Mental Well-being for Young Athletes: A lecture by Miguel Reyes from Mieli Association (Mental Health Finland), focusing on promoting mental well-being in sports.
  • Erasmus+ Funding Opportunities: Learn about funding for higher education and vocational education and training from Iris Kajas and Verneri Kinnunen of Finnish National Agency for Education (EDUFI).
  • Finnish Sauna Evening: Experience a traditional Finnish sauna by the lake.
  • Sport Activities: Participate in sports activities organized by our students.
  • Networking Opportunities: Connect with colleagues from around the world during coffee breaks, lunches, and dinners.
The tuition fee for the International Teacher Week is 150€. This fee includes the full program, all coffee breaks, two dinners, the Finnish sauna evening, and Thursday's sport activities. Please note that lunches and accommodation are at your own cost.
